Austin Schools Information
The schools in state capitals are always heavily spotlighted and invested with experiments in reform. But Austin schools in particular deserve some kind of national status, because Texas is particularly renowned for being progressive and pro-active in its development of education.
Although Austin schools in general are award-winning and excellent, they're not all the same. This page will guide you in the right direction as you research which Austin schools are right for your children.
Austin School Districts
Austin ISD
The Austin ISD is an urban school district, facing all kinds of challenges associated with its innercity status. However, it still manages to score higher than national averages, all across the spectrum. This district serves 78,000 students on 107 campuses.
Del Valle ISD
Del Valle ISD serves Southeast Travis County, as well as Austin, Garfield, Elroy, Mustang Ridge, Pilot Knob, Webberville, Hornsby Bend, and Creedmoor.
Eanes ISD
The Eanes school district includes Rollingwood, Westlake Hills, and parts of Austin. It serves approximately 7,200 students at nine schools: six elementary schools (grades K-5), two middle schools (grades 6-8), and one high school (grades 9-12).
Leander ISD
Leander ISD is among Texas’ fastest-growing school districts, with more than 24,000 students!
Lake Travis ISD
The Lake Travis ISD places special importance on "lifelong problem-solving skills" and "understand[ing] that responsibilities accompany the privileges of citizenship".
Round Rock ISD
Includes the city of Round Rock and parts of Austin and Cedar Park. There are four high schools, eight middle schools, and 27 elementary ones, as well as three alternative learning centers.
